Community Service Day at the Hanger in Pleasanton

The Hanger is a classroom that is modeled on a retail store. It provides vocational experience for some “special needs students” in the Pleasanton Unified School Pleasanton. About once a month the store opens to distribute clothes to families in Pleasanton and the surrounding communities. Up to *25 community volunteers* are needed to help sort clothes including Prom Dresses and other items for retail presentation and for other special outreach projects.

Los Gatos Creek Clean-up in Los Gatos

Join Interactors and Rotarians for clean up project of the Los Gatos Creek. Volunteers are asked to dress comfortably and bring their own work gloves and water to stay hydrated.

Work Day at Common Roots Farm in Santa Cruz

Common Roots Farm is an urban, organic farm where people with and without disabilities grow healthy food and build community. We will be planting in the field, post hole digging for a new chicken run, attaching wire fencing, setting up bird netting over the coop, and other tasks.

Outdoor Work at The Elks Lodge in Gilroy

The Elks Lodge of Gilroy needs help clearing outdoor vegetation to create a defensible space to prevent wildfires. Volunteers will need to come dressed for outdoor work and with appropriate garden or work gloves. Volunteers will be focusing on the main road leading up to the lodge and North West corner where there is a lot of growth compromising the building and critical infrastructure. Please bring gardening tools you are comfortable using (rakes, shovels, pitchforks, pruners, pole saw, chain saw, hedge trimmers, gloves).
